Starring Jack Black as a roadie tasked to save a heavy metal fantasy land from the clutches of nefarious overlords, this hard-rocking adventure game is as original as they come.
Why It's Hot:
Serious star power, for starters. In addition to Mr. Black, heavy metal legends Ozzie Osbourne, Rob Halford, Lemmy Kilmister, and Lita Ford play major roles. Spearheaded by much-loved game designer Tim Schafer (who handpicked over 100 metal tunes for the soundtrack), it's also a laugh riot, bursting at the seams with more rock 'n roll jokes than Spinal Tap. Best of all, you get to run around chopping up demons with both a giant axe and a giant "axe" -- an otherworldly guitar.
Why It's Not:
The single-player game looks like a total blast, but the multiplayer switches gears as a somewhat complicated strategy game affair. That's a weird B-side, innit?
