Release Date: October 6
Basketball junkies are about to be knee-deep in roundball, as two big-time NBA games -- NBA 2K10 and NBA Live 10 -- bounce to shelves on the same day.
Which Is Hot?
Based on last year's versions, it's safe to say that NBA 2K10 is the blue chip prospect. Plus, 2K has already managed to stand out by releasing the innovative NBA 2K10: Draft Combine, a free download that lets gamers create a custom player, take him through the pre-season NBA Draft Combine in Chicago, and eventually use him in the full retail game. Now that's playing with your head.
Which Is Not As Hot?
Like Kobe and LeBron, 2K and NBA Live routinely slug it out for 'best in show' honors. EA's series made serious strides last year, wowing everyone with its improved gameplay and impressive "Dynamic DNA" instant roster update service. Though it’s still a step or two behind in the graphics, a slew of new tweaks could make this the year NBA Live 10 finally takes back its crown.
Did You Know?
The two competing games feature the two stars of last year's Finals on their respective covers: Dwight Howard poses for NBA Live, while Kobe Bryant graces NBA 2K10.
