Halo 3: ODST

Platforms: Xbox 360
Release Date: September 22
Taking place between the events of Halo 2 and Halo 3, this much anticipated first-person shooter lets fans explore an entirely new side of the Halo tale as a rookie member of an elite ODST fighter squad. Finish the fight -- again.
Why It's Hot:
Seriously? Fine, we'll play along. Halo 3: ODST is hot because it contains the word "Halo" and the number "3" in the title. Need more? How about voice talent that includes the likes of sci-fi stars Nathan Fillion and Tricia Helfer? More? New tech, new guns, new gear, new music, new multiplayer modes...we could go on. Suffice it to say that if you like shooting at things, you're going to want to keep this one on your radar.
Why It's Not:
Remember the part where we mentioned how you play as an ODST trooper and NOT Halo lynchpin Master Chief? That's not hot. And while we have high hopes for the new story and interesting new gear, the engine is showing its age a bit, especially when compared to other upcoming first-person shooters like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
Did You Know?
Look out, McDonald's: As of March 2009, over 1 billion online matches of Halo 3 have been played.
