Forza Motorsport 3

Platforms: Xbox 360
Release Date: October 27
Realistic racer Forza screeches back to the track this year in its biggest outing yet. Given the sterling history of the series and Forza 2's still-buzzing online community, it's near-guaranteed to be a huge success.
Why It's Hot:
Jam-packed with over 400 cars and 100 tracks, Forza's shooting to re-establish its place as the dominant console racing series, and with developer Turn 10 cramming in gameplay tweaks as esoteric as realistic tire deformation and an (optional) clutch pedal, it's already in pole position. Plus, it includes the complete Le Mans circuit, so if you have the stamina, you can recreate the legendary 24-hour race from the comfort of your own home.
Why It's Not:
Recreate the 24 Hours of Le Mans? Are you nuts? Who would want to do a thing like that? If the appeal of that sort of uber-realism is lost on you, this is unlikely to be your game.
Did You Know?
Forza 3 will be the first Xbox 360 game to ship on two DVDs. The first holds the core game, and the second holds extra tracks and cars for you to install on your Xbox 360's hard drive. No hard drive? Uh, you're going to be in for some swapping, we guess.
