When Paramount sends the Marvel hero Iron Man to theaters this May, SEGA of America will be right there with videogame adaptations of his film debut. There will be console and handheld renditions of Iron Man, with the Nintendo DS version being handled by A2M, who last worked on Spider-Man: Friend or Foe for Activision.

Iron Man on the Nintendo DS will, hopefully, feature the same open world, massive destruction design as the console rendition, and judging from the screens offered up by SEGA it looks like this will be the case. The company promises exclusive content and gameplay for all the versions, and on the Nintendo DS the game will feature exclusive touch-screen navigation during the action.

No word if the Nintendo DS version will feature the same line-up of voice actors to provide spoken lines for the game – SEGA's grabbed Robert Downey Jr., Terrence Howard, and Shawn Toub to provide a few lines. According to SEGA, Iron Man will go beyond the film, lifting missions, plot points, supervillains, and unlockable suits out of the pages of the comic books.

This is just a taste of what's to come for Iron Man on the Nintendo DS. We'll have more as we get closer to the release of the film this May.
